Whether you realize it or not, you’ve got lots to be thankful for. So, it always pays to count your blessings, even if you can’t begin to count all of them.

Oprah Winfrey was born in rural Mississippi and lived with her grandmother in a house that had no indoor plumbing. She eventually earned her way into college, attending Tennessee State University in Nashville. While living in Nashville, she got her start in television.

Over time, Oprah moved to the top of her profession, and stawyed there. And she had solid advice that all of us need to hear from time to time. She said, “Be thankful for what you have, and you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you’ll never have enough.”

It’s a Great Day to Count Your Blessings

Today, as a favor to yourself, take time to count your blessings. In truth, you probably have more than you can count, but try counting them anyway. One of the greatest blessings is the ability to recognize your blessings, and you deserve that blessing, too.

You’ve Got Lots to Be Thankful For. Be Grateful.

Gratitude is riches. Complaint is poverty.
Doris Day

Reflect upon your blessings, of which every man has plenty, not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.
Charles Dickens

Before you go to bed, write down three “gratefuls” for the day and three “did wells,” which can even include something as simple as doing the laundry. The results can be amazing!
Carol Burnett

It is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Count your own blessings and let your neighbor count his.
James Thurber

Let gratitude for the past inspire us with trust for the future.
François Fènelon

No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.
St. Ambrose

Make me hear joy and gladness.
Psalm 51:8 NKJV
